ABOUT ME
I spent my early career as an artist sculpting cartoon characters and
superheroes for DC Comics, Pixar, Nickelodeon, and others. During this time, I began writing short stories and eventually completed a novel. All We Had was published by Scribner in 2014 and became a major motion picture from Tribeca Films.
More recently, I was selected as the inaugural fellow at New Yorker writer and cartoonist James Stevenson’s Lost and Found Lab and my animated short story, “Monster in a Dress” which Pulitzer Prize laureate in fiction, Robert Olen Butler calls “an achingly moving, truly unique work of art ” screened at The Corcoran School of Art and Design.
I consider myself both a writer and an artist, but really what I am is a character developer. Whether as a sculptor of superheroes or as writer of fiction, I have always been creating and exploring characters.
